Steel

2020

Solon, Iowa, on a cattle, corn farm I gathered steel detritus from the local farms to build a tall sculpture reminiscent of a hale canon. A device in that uses ignited compress air to bast sound waves claiming to disrupt the formation of hailstones in the atmosphere, and prevent hale from destroying the produce before a harvest. Reflecting on how our environment is changing. We have created systems to temporary resist change. How long will these bandages and pins hold as we try to maintain the environment and lifestyle. The patchwork creation only goes so far when we need drastic change or we will be left with a false landscape in a dystopian future
